During Milan Design Week, Porro came up with a couple of new ideas for decoration with a couple of products made by one of the main Italian influences of these days: Piero Lissoni. Let’s have a look into the novelties that this brand brought up during this event as well as how well these collections can fit a luxury yacht.
For their 2019 collection this year Porro has decided to innovate by creating a bridge between the two worlds: industrial and artisan. They did this by combining rationality and imagination, technological avant-garde and manual finishing. As a helping guide to this new concept by the brand is Piero Lissoni who has been designer and art director of Porro since 1987, as well as the creator and principal interpreter of the brand’s style.
One of the main concepts imagined by Lissoni was one in which the walls disappear and the furnishings become architecture. We can definitely see this in the System bookcases created in a way that can allow the hosts to display a painting, welcome seated get-togethers in the saloon of a yacht, surround a piano, and even allow more of the sea landscape to enter through the windows of the yacht.

There’s also the Modern container system, now in a version freed from the constraints of modular construction as well as made from some new materials such as the new vibrant Arancio Zucca lacquer which debuts in 2019. This is a wonderful addition to either a saloon or within the owner’s cabin inside a luxury yacht. You can also look into the Hinged Storage closet embellished by the new Oslo handle entirely crafted of wood. This wonderful product was carved out by careful woodworking in order to remain perfectly flush with the door. This product by Porro is presented with a clean profile that would look perfect in an owner’s or VIP cabin of a luxury yacht.
The new oval version of the Jeff table by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, to the larger size of the Kite Sofa couch by GamFratesi that makes it the protagonist of the living area and the Frank chair by Piero Lissoni that changes its proportions to become a club chair. A perfect product by Porro perfect for waiting and relaxing.

One of the more interesting debuts from Porro comes from the small Lullaby lounge chair. This is a good example of a chair that evokes the comfort and the act of cradling a sensation most welcome in the high sea. In the words of the brand: “the “L” recalls the shape of the wooden legs, while “U” identifies the couch on the floor plan, in addition, to recall a rocking motion”
