3. U.S.S. KITTIWAKE, CAYMAN ISLANDS

U.S.S. Kittiwake is situated in a marine park and is protected under law in Cayman and is managed by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association. The 76.5m ship was in service from 1945 to 1994 and her most memorable duty was the recovery of the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster.
She was sunk in the Northwest Point area to create an artificial reef in 2011 and since opening to the public more than 40,000 divers and snorkellers have enjoyed exploring her.
This shipwreck dive has blossomed into a diverse marine environment, with her five decks offering a variety of surprises.
