British designer Tom Dixon was responsible for designing the luxurious suites of Scarlet Lady (the first cruise ship by Virgin Voyages). Some images were revealed during this week so we took a deeper look at this design accomplishment.
The Scarlet Lady is a luxurious cruise ship that will debut in 2020, having enough room for more than 2,700 passengers, as well as for a massive crew of 1,150. News around this boat project was eagerly awaited by sailing enthusiasts ever since Richard Branson announced plans to venture into the world of cruise liners.

However, the cherry on top of the hype around this ship came when the shipyard convinced Tom Dixon to design this cruise ship’s luxurious suites. They will be a total of 78 RockStar suites all of which will have a retro-futuristic look, as well as managing to blend opulence, comfort and contemporary vibes in the most effective and beautiful way possible.
One of Tom Dixon’s concepts for this interior design project was to forget the clichés about luxury and formalities and bring out a more “rebellious luxe to life at sea”. All of these suites will combine exquisite leather finishes with brass furnishings alongside some cool nautical elements and color themes. Included in these suites are marble-clad bathrooms, finished with plush terrazzo flooring, with the intention of further enhancing the contemporary aesthetics of the suite.

We highlight here the so-called Massive Suite. This space is a 200 square-metre retreat with a huge sea terrace. It will also come complete with an outdoor jacuzzi, a dining table with capacity for six people, a catamaran net for stargazing, hammocks, a small bar and a meditation area with a view to the sea. This huge suite will be able to accommodate and entertain six people, with a large living room, a music room, and a bedroom.
Not to mention the fact that each suite will come with “VIP perks”, including a personal assistant, private transportation service, and also access to the exclusive Rooftop club.
